The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII), ISSN 3051-8083, is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by TheSustainImpact® (Portugal). JSII provides an international platform for high-quality research at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and societal impact. The journal applies a single-blind peer review process and follows COPE-aligned ethics, transparent editorial policies, and long-term preservation practices.

Mission and Vision

JSII aims to support sustainability-focused research that bridges academia, industry, policy, and civil society. The journal publishes research that contributes to scholarly debate, informs decision-making, and supports sustainability-oriented practice. Through a single-blind peer review process and COPE-aligned editorial policies, JSII seeks to uphold integrity, transparency, and relevance in scholarly publishing.

JSII welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that advance sustainability knowledge and practice from forward-looking perspectives. Areas of focus include:

Publication Model

Frequency: Biannual.
Open Access & License: CC BY 4.0, authors retain copyright.
Article Type: Full papers generally between 5 000 and 8 000 words, excluding references, figures, and tables; APA 7th edition.

Editorial Process & Ethics

All submissions undergo editorial screening before peer review. Manuscripts considered suitable for review are evaluated through a single-blind peer review process, in which reviewer identities remain confidential while reviewers may have access to author information. Manuscripts are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers before an editorial decision is made. Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose conflicts of interest. JSII follows COPE-aligned procedures for ethics, corrections, and retractions.

Preservation & Discoverability

JSII supports long-term access through PKP PN and LOCKSS. Articles are assigned Crossref DOIs once DOI registration is completed, supporting persistent identification, discoverability, and citation linking. JSII is developing its publication profile for possible future evaluation by indexing and abstracting services such as DOAJ, ERIH PLUS, and Scopus.
