Submission Guidelines
Last Updated: 07/05/2026
The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII), ISSN 3051-8083, accepts original research articles that fall within the journal’s Aims & Scope. Authors must follow these instructions to support smooth processing, editorial assessment, and peer review.
1. Article Type
- Full Papers: Generally between 5 000 and 8 000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures. Longer manuscripts may be considered where justified by the scope, depth, or methodological design of the study. Manuscripts must follow APA 7th edition style.
2. File Requirements
Authors must submit a single manuscript file (.docx) prepared using the JSII Article Template. Authors do not need to remove their names or affiliations before submission, as JSII applies a single-blind peer review process.
The submitted file must include: title, author names and affiliations with country, ORCID iDs, corresponding author email, abstract, keywords, main text, references, tables, figures, acknowledgements, funding statement, and conflict of interest statement.
3. Essential Conditions
By submitting to JSII, authors confirm that:
- The submission is original, not previously published, and not under review elsewhere.
- The manuscript follows the Author Guidelines, including structure, APA 7th referencing, word limits, and figure and table standards.
- All references are accurate and complete, with DOIs or stable URLs where available.
- Ethical approvals and informed consent, where applicable, are documented in line with the Ethical Guidelines (PEMS).
- Funding sources and conflicts of interest are fully disclosed.
- Authors agree to the Copyright Notice & Author Agreement, and acknowledge that accepted articles will be published under the CC BY 4.0 Open Access & Licensing Policy.
4. Submission Process
- Submissions must be made through the online submission system. Email submissions are not accepted.
- Authors must register or log in to submit and will be guided through metadata entry and file upload.
- All correspondence is managed through OJS and email notifications.
5. Review & Decisions
All submissions undergo editorial screening before peer review. Manuscripts considered suitable for review are evaluated through a single-blind peer review process, in which reviewer identities remain confidential while reviewers may have access to author information. Manuscripts are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers before an editorial decision is made. Editorial decisions are communicated to the corresponding author via the submission system.
6. Publication Fees
JSII does not charge a submission fee. Accepted articles are subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC) of €380, payable after acceptance and before publication. The APC does not influence editorial assessment or peer-review outcomes. For details, including waivers and discounts, see the Publication Fees & APC Policy.
