Ethical Guidelines (PEMS)

The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII) follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and best practices to ensure integrity, fairness, and transparency in publishing.
1. Authors
- Submit only original, unpublished work not under review elsewhere.
- Ensure accuracy of data, methods, and results.
- Disclose funding sources and conflicts of interest.
- Provide ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
- Cite all sources appropriately and avoid plagiarism or redundant publication.
2. Editors
- Make impartial decisions based solely on scholarly merit.
- Oversee a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process.
- Maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviews.
- Act on misconduct in line with COPE guidance.
3. Reviewers
- Provide constructive, evidence-based, and timely reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials under review.
- Declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves where appropriate.
4. Misconduct
Cases of plagiarism, falsification, duplicate submission, or ethical violations will be investigated. Outcomes may include correction, retraction, or notification of the relevant institutions.
5. Corrections & Retractions
- Erratum: Minor errors not affecting the conclusions.
- Corrigendum: Significant author corrections.
- Retraction: Serious errors or misconduct that invalidate results.
6. Conflicts of Interest
All parties must disclose potential conflicts of interest. See our Peer Review Policy for procedures.
7. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, institutional, or sponsor influence. Partnerships or sponsorships do not affect editorial integrity.
