Archiving & Preservation Policy

Last Updated: 07/05/2026

The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII), ISSN 3051-8083, supports the long-term preservation and accessibility of its content through recognized digital archiving and preservation practices.

1. Digital Preservation

  • JSII supports preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which preserves eligible content in a distributed network of partner libraries.
  • LOCKSS-based preservation supports decentralized archiving and long-term access where enabled by the publishing platform and preservation partners.

2. DOI Assignment

  • Published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) via Crossref once DOI registration is completed, supporting persistent linking, discoverability, and citation.

3. Backups & Metadata

  • Website and publication data are backed up to reduce the risk of data loss.
  • Bibliographic metadata is maintained through the journal platform and may be shared with DOI registration, indexing, archiving, and discovery services where applicable. OAI-PMH harvesting is supported at: https://publications.thesustainimpact.com/index.php/jsii/oai.

4. Continuity of Access

In the unlikely event that JSII ceases operations, the journal will seek to preserve access to published content through available preservation systems, archiving services, or trusted repositories.
