Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission is original, has not been previously published, and is not under review elsewhere.
  • The manuscript is prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) using the official JSII template.
  • The manuscript complies with the Author Guidelines, including structure, word limits, APA 7th referencing, and figure/table standards.
  • All references are accurate and complete, with DOIs or stable URLs where available.
  • All necessary ethical approvals and informed consent (where applicable) have been obtained and documented.
  • All sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest are disclosed.
  • The authors agree to the Copyright Notice & Author Agreement, and acknowledge publication under the CC BY 4.0 Open Access & Licensing Policy.
  • By checking this box, the corresponding author confirms the submission is in full compliance with JSII requirements and that all information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts must be prepared using the official JSII Article Template (Word, .docx; APA 7th edition).

All submissions must include a complete manuscript file containing:

  • Title

  • Author names and affiliations (with country)

  • ORCID iDs

  • Corresponding author email

  • Abstract and keywords

  • Body text (introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion)

  • References (APA 7th, with DOIs where available)

  • Tables and figures (with captions)

  • Acknowledgements

  • Funding statement

  • Conflict of interest disclosures

The Editorial Office will prepare anonymized versions for peer review. Authors do not need to remove their names or affiliations before submission.

Submissions that do not comply with the template and formatting requirements will be returned before review.

Full Paper

Peer-reviewed research articles (4,000–5,000 words; maximum 6,000 including references, figures, and tables; APA 7th edition). Submissions must be original, aligned with the journal’s Aims & Scope, and prepared using the official JSII Article Template.

1) Peer Review

  • Model: Double-blind. Author and reviewer identities are concealed throughout the review.
  • Reviewers: Minimum of two independent reviewers per manuscript.
  • Timelines: 7 days to accept the invitation; 14–21 days to complete the review (reminders automated).
  • Decisions: Accept; Minor Revisions; Major Revisions (may be re-reviewed); Reject.
  • The Editorial Office prepares anonymized manuscripts to ensure reviewer impartiality. See full Peer Review Policy.

2) Submission File

  • Main Manuscript (.docx): Includes the full article (title, author details, abstract, keywords, body text, references, tables, figures, acknowledgements, funding, conflict of interest statement). The Editorial Office will prepare an anonymized version for double-blind review.

3) Format & Citations

  • Length: 4,000–5,000 words (excluding figures/tables/references); not more than 6,000 total.
  • Style: APA 7th edition. Provide DOIs or stable URLs where available.
  • Figures/Tables: Number consecutively, cite in text, include captions. Upload high-resolution images under Figures & Images when relevant.

  • Include a Data Availability Statement and, where possible, deposit data/code in trusted repositories with persistent identifiers (DOIs/URLs).
  • Upload supplementary materials (datasets, appendices, multimedia) under the appropriate components.

Privacy Statement

The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII) values the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. We comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and follow best practices for handling personal data in academic publishing.

1. Information Collected

  • Personal data provided during registration (e.g., name, email, affiliation, ORCID iD).
  • Metadata associated with submissions, peer review, and editorial workflows.
  • Technical information (cookies, IP addresses) used to improve site performance.

2. Use of Information

  • To manage submissions, peer review, and editorial decisions.
  • To communicate with authors, reviewers, and editors.
  • To send journal announcements and notifications (opt-in).
  • To comply with indexing, archiving, and preservation requirements.

3. Data Sharing

  • Data is not shared with third parties except for indexing, preservation, and hosting services (e.g., PKP PN, Crossref, DOAJ).
  • Email addresses and personal information are never used for commercial purposes.

4. Data Retention

  • User accounts and submission records are retained for archival and scholarly integrity purposes.
  • Published articles, associated metadata, and peer review history are retained permanently as part of the scholarly record.
  • Users may request account deletion by contacting the Editorial Office. Certain data (e.g., published content) cannot be removed to preserve the academic record.

5. Cookies

The JSII website uses cookies to improve functionality. Users may disable cookies in their browser, though some functions may be limited.

6. User Rights

  • Request access to stored personal data.
  • Request corrections or deletion of data (within legal and scholarly limits).
  • Withdraw consent for receiving announcements or communications.

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. The JSII website uses HTTPS encryption and secure hosting infrastructure.
