The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII) is building a global editorial community to ensure rigorous, fair, and transparent publishing. Our governance model is aligned with Scopus indexing standards through clear editorial roles, COPE-aligned ethics, and international representation.

1. Editorial Mission

The Editorial Team’s mission is to uphold JSII’s standards of methodological rigor, ethical integrity, and applied relevance. We support research that advances scholarly knowledge while generating measurable societal impact.

2. Interim Governance

Until the full Editorial Board is finalized, operations are coordinated by the Editorial Office. Handling editors are assigned to submissions in line with our Peer Review Policy and Ethical Guidelines (PEMS). The complete roster of Editors and Board Members (names, affiliations, and countries) will be published here once appointments are confirmed, before indexing applications.

3. Editorial Roles

  • Editor-in-Chief: Defines editorial strategy; ensures quality, integrity, and scope alignment; has final decision authority.
  • Managing Editor: Oversees workflows, timelines, communications; coordinates special issues.
  • Associate / Section Editors: Manage peer review in their domains; select reviewers; synthesize recommendations.
  • Editorial Board Members: Provide subject expertise; advise on scope and policy; recommend reviewers; promote JSII globally.
  • Advisory Board: Offers strategic guidance on impact, partnerships, and long-term development.
  • Statistical / Methods Editors: Support methodological assessment and reproducibility.
  • Ethics Editor: Advises on integrity and misconduct cases, following COPE guidance.

4. Selection & Diversity

Editors are appointed based on scholarly excellence, editorial or reviewing experience, and commitment to open science and ethical publishing. JSII actively pursues geographic, disciplinary, and gender diversity to reflect the global sustainability community.

5. Transparency & Independence

Editors declare any actual or perceived conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when appropriate. Decisions are based solely on scholarly merit and relevance, independent of sponsors or external influence.
