Author Guidelines

Last Updated: 07/05/2026

The Journal of Sustainable Innovation and Impact (JSII), ISSN 3051-8083, welcomes original research articles that meet the journal’s Aims & Scope. All manuscripts must follow these guidelines to support consistency, quality, and smooth processing through editorial assessment and peer review.

1. Article Type

  • Full Papers: Generally between 5 000 and 8 000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures. Longer manuscripts may be considered where justified by the scope, depth, or methodological design of the study. Review articles may be considered where they align clearly with the journal’s aims and scope.

2. Submission File

JSII operates a single-blind peer review process. Authors submit a single manuscript file (.docx) prepared using the JSII Article Template. Authors do not need to remove their names or affiliations before submission.

The manuscript must include: title, author names and affiliations with country, ORCID iDs, corresponding author email, abstract, keywords, body text, references, tables, figures, acknowledgements, funding statement, and conflict of interest statement.

3. Formatting

  • Use the official JSII Article Template, Microsoft Word, .docx.
  • Style: APA 7th edition for in-text citations and references.
  • Abstract: 200 to 250 words; Keywords: 4 to 6 terms separated by semicolons.
  • Figures/Tables: Cite in text; captions above tables and below figures; number consecutively, for example Figure 1 and Table 1. High-resolution images, where applicable, should also be uploaded under Figures & Images.
  • Units & Notation: Use SI units; define abbreviations at first use.
  • Language: Clear academic English. Authors are encouraged to use professional editing if needed.

4. Manuscript Structure

  • Abstract and Keywords — 200 to 250 words; 4 to 6 keywords.
  • Introduction — outline objectives, significance, and context.
  • Literature Review / Theoretical Background — may be integrated into the Introduction; situate the study within existing research.
  • Methods — include ethical approvals and informed consent where applicable.
  • Results / Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion and Implications
  • References — APA 7th edition; include DOIs where available.
  • Acknowledgements, Funding, Competing Interests

Variations in structure may be permitted for interdisciplinary or methodological reasons, provided that the article maintains clarity, rigor, and transparency.
